Islamabad's Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is set to reallocate 25 high-value plots in sectors F-14 and F-15 after judges received significantly more than their reserved share, a move that also aims to free up space for officers from the Islamabad Capital Territory administration and other professional bodies. The executive board of FGEHA approved the readjustment during its 48th meeting last month. A senior officer confirmed that the minutes were issued last week, and the authority is now ready to proceed with the reallocation work. Background The quota disparity stems from a 2016 initial layout plan for F-14 and F-15 that allocated 7,201 plots. However, a revised layout plan in 2021 reduced the total available plots to 6,800, causing allotments under certain quotas to marginally exceed their prescribed percentage allocations. For judges, only 16 category-I plots had been reserved, but they were ultimately allotted 40. Meanwhile, 16 category-I plots were reserved for ICT administration, but only one was allotted. Five category-I plots were set aside for employees of district courts, and 10 for the Islamabad Bar Association, but none were allotted to these groups. Overall, out of 54 reserved plots for judges, ICT officers, law officers, the Islamabad Bar Association, and district court employees, 47 were allotted. The ICT administration has now approached FGEHA for its share, submitting 22 recommendations for category-I plots in F-14/15. The Sky Garden Scheme, a joint venture with M/s Commoners Sky Gardens executed on October 11, 2019, involves up to 11,000 kanals in Mauza Kathar and Mengal, tehsil and district Murree. The project planned 5,754 residential plots with a 70:30 equity distribution ratio between partners, but physical progress remains below 50 percent.
